SPIN covered him that same month. The magazine called him a fast-rising Dallas rapper and reported that AMAR debuted at No. 4 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums chart. It also noted that “Texas” had already passed 7.3 million streams on Spotify.
He was not a total unknown before this. He had been releasing music for a few years and had a local following. But AMAR was the first time his name began to spread well beyond Dallas.

After he got out, he kept working on his music while supporting his family. In 2021, he partnered with UnitedMasters instead of going straight to a major label. His early releases, such as “Taliban Freestyle” in 2019, did not make him a star. But they gave him a base to build on.
So his success was built step by step. That is why 2023 felt like a big jump to new listeners, even though he had been working for years. His story is also a big part of why his songs feel personal.
